What is lorem ipsum?
Placeholder text: scrambled Latin based on a passage from Cicero’s De finibus bonorum et malorum, used by typesetters and designers to fill a layout before the real words exist. It reads like text without saying anything, so it doesn’t distract from the design. The usual opening is “Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit.”
Why use placeholder text?
To see how a layout handles real-looking text (line lengths, paragraph spacing, how a card or page fills up) before the copy is written. Replace it before you publish: search engines and readers treat it as unfinished content.
Can I get it as HTML?
Yes. Tick As HTML and each paragraph comes wrapped in <p> tags, one per line, ready to paste into a page or template. Copy and Download then give the HTML.
How much can it make?
Up to 100 paragraphs, 500 sentences or 10,000 words at a time. Each Generate makes new text at random.
